FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you say KENEDIK?

It’s pronounced like kinetic.

Where did you come up with the name?

I grew up with an interest in science and space and wanted to integrate my name (KENNEDY) into my brand. Thus came the alternate spelling of kinetic. It’s the idea that we’re always learning, always growing, always working hard to play hard.

Why Pink?

I work a lot in CMYK. Somehow, magenta and black really started to grow on me. I also wanted to challenge myself to get over my fear of pink, so I branded myself with it.

Are you hiring?

Unfortunately, I’m not hiring at this time. I’d like to keep things small. I would like to clone myself sometimes. Let me know if you have access to a device capable of such things.

I’ve got a project that fits your style perfectly, It doesn’t pay, but you’ll get a lot of great exposure. When can we start?

Sorry, that’s not going to happen. I’ve got a really cute kid to feed and your exposure will not satisfy this kid’s voracious appetite.

Are you on twitter?

Yes, follow us at twitter.com/kenedik

I’m working on a report for school. Can you answer some questions for me?

I’ve got a pretty full schedule, but maybe I can help if you keep it short and sweet. Say hello at info@kenedik.com

Any advice for young designers starting out?

Do what you love. Find that stuff that really fires you up and go for it. You’ll be more happy and you’ll probably make better work.

Did one guy really do all this work?

Yes, I really did all this stuff, but remember I’ve been at this a while. Sometimes there are collaborators involved, but rarely.

When do you sleep?

Not too often, but I sometimes sleep while on vacation.

Will you come and speak at my school or design event?

I enjoy meeting students, talking shop and traveling, so give me some details and I’ll check the schedule. Send your inquiries to speakout@kenedik.com.

I’d love to visit your studio. Can I stop by?

Sorry, not offering tours at this time.

I want some experience. Do you offer interships?

I haven’t offered internships due to the hands-on personal nature of my work, but I’m beginning to come around to the idea. If you really want to work with me and learn about the design biz, we can talk. I can’t pay you, but I can probably feed you lunch or some tasty brownies from time to time. Send some samples of your work my way at internships@kenedik.com.

Did you attend college?

Yes, I attended Ringling College of Art and Design. It was a really good experience.

You don’t have to go to an art school to be successful, but you do need to have a drive to learn your craft. Devour everything you can design-wise, read books, go to lectures, take pictures, draw in sketchbooks. You should also surround yourself with good people who can push you to be better in all areas of your life.

What are your design rates?

I don’t really have design rates. Each of my clients projects have unique and different needs. Email me with your specific questions or concerns at info@kenedik.com and we can get the conversation started about your project. I look forward to working with you.
