World-reknown entertainment photographer Jeremy Cowart, came to us a while ago to help him create a hand-drawn logo that would set him apart from the glossy photographers out there. After lots of experimenting with inks/markers/pencils and other materials, we landed on a mark.

The print portfolio debuted January 25, 2012 and will be the primary way Jeremy’s agent will deliver his work in person. The thing we love most other than Jeremy’s amazing images is the debossing of the logo into the book cover/slipcase thanks to Scott Mullenburg.

Here’s a look at a few selections from the book.

On January 25, 2012 our friend, world-reknown entertainment photographer Jeremy Cowart debuted his new print portfolio to the world. The cool thing is, we were a part of it, creating his cool new hand-drawn logo which was debossed into the cover and slip case, which were made by Scott Mullenburg.

Here’s a deeper look at the whole portfolio package and the amazing work of Cowart, narrated by the man himself.

Here’s a look at The River (Fall 2011), a novel and digipack we designed for author and musician Michael Neale. The story, inspired by real people and events in the author’s life—takes you on a journey from tragedy and despair to triumph and redemption through the main character Gabriel Clarke (a third-generation whitewater guide).

The cover was printed on a heavy-weight linen stock and a combination of finishing techniques like deboss, matte lamination and a spot gloss were put to work. The interior of the book has rough-cut pages, which adds to the feeling of a weathered book.

The digipack accompanies the book as the soundtrack for The River Experience Tour, where the author and friends combine unique storytelling, live music, and HD-video into a multi-media experience that brings the book to life.

10 – 27 – 2011

We’re excited to finally debut The River , a novel we designed for gifted author and musician Michael Neale.

The story is really good and centers around Gabriel Clarke, a third-generation legendary whitewater guide, whose experience with The River rescued him from a life of brokenness and pain.

Check out this trailer to get your feet wet and hear what others are saying:

(Design note: The trailer was created by another studio, but the Design and Art Direction for the book and experience came from us. See more of the design over in our book section of our portfolio.)

In the Summer of 2011, I was asked to create an art installation based on the bible verse, John 1:5. I decided to incorporate clear vinyl on the deep blue wall to give a shine effect of the words shining like the text describes. On top of the vinyl I decided to create a text treatment made from thousands of connected points, inspired by another bible verse, Matthew 5:14 that talks about the light of the world. The many points create one unified whole.
