In this bag series, the color and illustrations are inspired by their roast namesakes which are plants that have beautiful flowers, but are ironically all poisonous. This juxtaposition of beauty and danger hints at the brand ethos that some ideas may seem “deadly” to the status quo. Every day individuals have the opportunity to seed change in their communities even though they may at first receive a backlash. Proved time and time again, if they don’t give up their “revolutionary” ideas will catch on and can make a difference. Defy the dark and embrace your freedom everyday with Deadly Seed.

NEW FOR MOZART’S COFFEE

for those that want “to get more out of life”

The team at Mozart’s Coffee has been baking, roasting and hosting musical performances on the shores of Lake Austin for over 30 years. With the long history, they have a lot of offerings that most don’t, from over 18 Single Origin coffees from around the world to their own unique flavored coffees, proprietary house blends and seasonal offerings and more.

For custom bags we helped the refresh their Signature Mozart’s Blend, we gave metallic golden touches to their “Golden Cup” Espresso D’ Oro, and crafted a wild and weird Lake Austin Blend bag with type by artist Brie Hopkins mixed with photos from around Austin. For their branded bag system, we wanted to bring clarity to their offerings by creating just one Burgundy bag with color inspired by a classic car of the owner. The branded system we developed uses unique label shapes and colors to designate different coffee types like Single Origins (18+), Flavored coffees (3) and blends (5+). Each Single Origin coffee boasts a different color (more than 18) and has a shape that distinguishes itself from other label types. In addition to the look of the labels they use different paper stocks that lend themselves to the premium nature of the coffee inside.

Each bag features a nod to the bricked facade of the Mozart’s building and it’s unique spaces within as well as their mantra “Get more out of life with Coffee” which is proudly painted on one of the lakeside walls of the building.

Each bag features similar information, like blend information and mantra “Get more out of life” but each features it’s own colorways to make it unique.

Inspired by vintage tickets and that game day experience before iPhones and QRcodes, this packaging brings that nostalgia back and Home Team’s delicious coffee fuels you for whatever your tackling that day. While custom printed to look like they’re individually labeled, each bag in the series has corresponding colors around the bag to tie into the roast rather than just one branded bag.

INSTALLATION SPOTLIGHT:
WHOLESOME HOUND BoOTH at gLOBAL PET EXPO 2024

SCOPE OF WORK: Branding, Custom booth fabrication from wood, custom signage and lettering, custom rack designs, mural back drop, packaging design

After refreshing Wholesome Hound’s product packaging for their premium dog treats, they asked us to help them come up with a booth design to present their beach-loving brand to new audiences at the Global Pet Expo 2024 in Orlando, Florida. We created a custom framework that fit the constraints of the show but allowed us to hold a beach-themed mural hand-painted on wood panels that could be modular. The bar and surfboard racks were custom made for the brand.
